A Grama Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives entrusted with carrying out the administrative functions of local self-government institutions under the Panchayati Raj system. It serves as the principal governing body at the village level, responsible for implementing the decisions of the Gram Sabha and managing the day-to-day administration of the Panchayat. History of Grama Panchayat

Around A.D. 900, the Kulasekhara ruler divided the Tiru-Kochi region into several provinces. The areas that now constitute Keerampara Grama Panchayat formed part of Keezhmalai Nadu, which was included within the Thodupuzha and Muvattupuzha provinces created through this administrative reorganization.
